The client had explored other kitchen companies but couldn’t find anyone able to meet their exact brief. They wanted a classic kitchen style with a modern twist that would be sympathetic to the age and character of their property. The existing layout was originally two separate spaces, and one of their key requirements was the addition of a central island to connect the rooms and create flow
The Design Concept
Our design team created a timeless scheme that combined practicality with elegance. Bespoke library ladders were introduced to maximise the vertical height of the kitchen, ensuring every inch of space could be used for storage whilst also adding a charming, classic feature to the bank of tall units. To prevent the room from feeling too formal, we layered in a subtle two-tone palette, balancing soft, neutral cabinetry with warm timber tones to bring texture, character and warmth. The large island formed the heart of the design, acting as a central hub for both food preparation and socialising.
The Result
The finished kitchen is a seamless combination of traditional character and contemporary function. The bespoke ladders add a unique design flourish whilst making high-level storage practical and accessible. The two-tone finishes provide depth and personality, while the island delivers the perfect connection between the formerly separate spaces, creating the sociable, functional layout our clients had envisioned. With all aspects of joinery, installation and finishing carried out by our team, the result is a kitchen that not only respects the history of the property but also meets the modern lifestyle needs of its owners.

A feature island, finished with fluted wooden panelling and topped in pristine quartz, creates a focal point that is both stylish and practical, offering seating and preparation space. The bespoke cabinetry includes a beautifully designed pantry with natural wood interiors, integrated shelving, and concealed storage, combining functionality with charm. Open shelving with concealed lighting highlights the vertical panelling, creating warmth and texture while enhancing the sense of depth in the design. Altogether, the kitchen embodies a refined yet homely atmosphere, perfectly tailored to both modern living and the character of the property.
