Some projects are a true labour of love, and this one is no exception. Our clients, having recently returned to Scotland after years of living in the UAE, wanted to bring a touch of the Middle Eastern style they had grown fond of back home.
Their vision combined sleek modernity with warmth and functionality, resulting in a kitchen that not only meets their lifestyle needs but has also become a centrepiece for family and friends.
The Design Concept
The brief was clear: to create a sophisticated, high-performance kitchen that echoed the elegance of UAE interiors while seamlessly fitting into their Scottish home. The use of textured Poggenpohl doors softens the strong industrial edge of the striking Dekton worktops, achieving the perfect balance between luxury and practicality.
The island was designed as an uninterrupted preparation and cooking zone, ideal for entertaining and culinary creativity. Complementing this, the peninsular provides a social focal point, allowing bar-height seating without interrupting the flow of the workspace.
The Result
The finished kitchen is a perfect blend of sophistication and functionality. It is modern yet welcoming, practical yet indulgent. Every element, from the industrial-inspired worktops to the soft texture of the cabinetry, works in harmony. The clients now enjoy a kitchen that not only reflects their international influences but also feels deeply at home in Scotland.

This kitchen balances cutting-edge functionality with seamless design detail. The Quooker tap, delivering instant boiling water, is set into a dramatic Dekton worktop with rich veining, offering both a striking focal point and a practical luxury for everyday cooking. The sleek chrome finish contrasts beautifully with the dark stone surface, highlighting the precision and elegance of the design. Beyond the main space, the adjoining utility area continues the same refined aesthetic, with Poggenpohl cabinetry and matching worktops ensuring a consistent flow throughout. The considered layout not only enhances efficiency but also extends the feeling of sophistication and cohesion across the entire kitchen zone.
