Bespoke Kitchen Storage
Tailored to your lifestyle, our storage solutions keep your kitchen organised and clutter-free, whatever you need to store. From open shelving for your finest tableware to perfectly proportioned cupboards, we design storage around how you actually use your kitchen.
Our storage complements every kitchen collection we make, from Poggenpohl to our own J.S. Geddes collection. Everything is designed and installed by our own team from our Kilmarnock showroom, for clients across Scotland, the Borders and Northumberland. Our designers are involved from the start, so the finished kitchen matches what you had in mind.
Types of Bespoke Kitchen Storage
Most kitchens don't run short of space. They run short of the right space. Instead of fitting your kitchen around standard units, we design each part around what you own and how you cook.
Larder Units
A larder is the workhorse of a well-planned kitchen. Full height, deep, with adjustable shelves for dry goods, tins and baking kit that would otherwise be spread across four cupboards.
The advantage of a bespoke one is depth. We size each shelf to what will actually sit on it — shallow at eye level for spices, deeper below for bulk items. If you want a larder that doubles as a prep or drinks area, a full bespoke pantry may suit you better.
Drawer Systems
Deep pan drawers have largely replaced base cupboards, because you can see the whole contents from above rather than reaching into a dark box.
What makes a drawer work is what's inside it. Cutlery inserts, knife blocks, plate pegs and adjustable dividers stop everything sliding into a heap. We specify these to match the finish of your cabinetry.
Spice Racks
Spices are the clearest example of storage that fails when it isn't planned. In a cupboard, jars end up two rows deep and you buy cumin you already own.
A narrow pull-out beside the hob keeps everything visible while you cook. A tiered drawer insert works if you prefer things flat and labelled from above. Either way, spices should sit in a single layer, near where you cook.
Corner Storage
Corners are where most kitchens lose the most space. A standard corner unit has a void that is technically storage but practically unreachable.
We fix this one of three ways: a carousel that rotates the contents out to you, a pull-out mechanism that swings the front clear and draws the back forward, or designing the corner out altogether.
Island Storage
An island is often the most under-used storage in the kitchen, because it's easy to treat it as just a surface.
Designed well, it holds what you use at it — deep drawers for pans, a bin and recycling pull-out where you prep, shallow drawers for utensils. If there's seating, the reverse side can take open shelving or a wine fridge.
Wine Storage
Wine storage runs from a simple bottle drawer to a temperature-controlled cabinet, and the right choice depends on whether you're storing for a week or for years.
For everyday drinking, a pull-out rack or angled shelving in a larder is enough. For a collection, a dedicated wine cabinet built into a run of tall units reads as part of the kitchen rather than an appliance.
Open Shelving
Not all storage should be hidden. Open shelving gives a kitchen depth and breaks up long runs of closed doors.
The balance matters — too little and the kitchen feels flat, too much and it becomes a dusting job. We usually suggest one defined area rather than shelves scattered around the room: a run above a worktop, inside a glazed cabinet, or framing a window.

Quick Answers
Custom kitchen storage covers a wide range: full-height larder units, pan drawers, corner pull-outs, internal drawer organisers, spice racks, wine storage, cutlery dividers, concealed appliance garages, and island storage. Unlike off-the-shelf kitchens, bespoke storage is designed around how you actually use the space — every drawer depth, shelf height, and internal fitting is specified to your needs.
We design and install bespoke kitchen storage across Scotland, the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Our design studio and showroom is in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, and our own installation team handles every project rather than subcontracting the work out. If you’re outside these areas, it’s still worth getting in touch — we regularly take on projects further afield. Call us on 01563 530 838 or arrange a visit to the showroom to talk through what you have in mind.
Standard kitchens use fixed unit sizes — typically 300mm, 500mm, and 600mm widths — which often means wasted space at corners, beside chimney breasts, or in awkward alcoves. Bespoke storage is made to the exact dimensions of your room, eliminating gaps and maximising every centimetre. Internal fittings are also specified individually rather than selected from a standard range.
In many cases, yes. We can replace specific units with better-specified alternatives, add a larder tower to an existing run, or refit the interiors of existing carcasses with new drawer systems and organisers. A storage consultation will identify the best approach for your kitchen.
The cost varies significantly depending on scope. A single bespoke larder unit starts from around £1,200–£2,500 fitted. A full kitchen with custom storage throughout (e.g., pull-outs, pan drawers, internal organisers, and a larder run) typically forms part of a wider bespoke kitchen project starting from £25,000. We provide itemised quotes so you can see exactly what you are investing in.
You are integral to the entire design process. From our initial consultation to the final installation, we collaborate closely with you to ensure every detail meets your expectations. You’ll have opportunities to provide feedback and make adjustments along the way.
Yes, you have complete freedom to choose from a variety of finishes, styles and hardware options. Whether you lean towards a sleek, modern aesthetic or a classic, traditional design, our designers will collaborate with you to bring your vision to life.
In compact kitchens, the biggest gains come from maximising vertical space with full-height units, replacing standard shelved cupboards with deep pull-out drawers, and using corner space with carousel or pull-out corner solutions. An integrated larder unit can also consolidate scattered storage into a single, highly organised column. We design specifically for constrained spaces and can work with room heights up to the ceiling.
